Here is another notgeld piece designed by Heinz Schiestl (like the Schweinfurt one earlier). It is missing its serial number!

Agreed! Although this isn't a specimen in my mind - it is just missing its serial number which could have happened when 2 pieces were stuck together when they went through the numerator machine..... Lots of the catalogues state 'M' or 'Muster' (specimen) for pieces just missing a serial number......but it can't be correct. There has to be another form of cancellation on it. That is how all my GNCC members see the situation too. I'll post some more actual specimen examples to clarify if that helps?

Very interesting. Thank you for sharing that analysis. Of course, I would not mind seeing the specimen examples!

Great comparison examples! The Coburg specimen shows Ungiltig ("Invalid") in the serial location.

Yes @jbuck! You can often get notgeld that have 'Ungultig' or 'Ungiltig' stamped on them.........but not like this piece. Those other ones are just 'cancelled' pieces, most often handed in as payment and cancelled by the cashier, I suspect.......and which would usually have a serial number.

No serial number AND a hole punch cancellation.
