.....and here is the 2nd tombstone inscription:

'Here lies the body of Johann Merkel. As a child he was a Ferkel [young pig]. He grew up to be a hog, now what's become of the dirty dog?'

@jbuck - thanks again. I have always felt that if only coin and banknote collectors knew more about these notgeld issues, the more they would be known and collected.

There are 5 different silks in this series or set. So far in this thread, I have shown the 'Seidenstuck' & 'Anker' pieces. Here is the 'Buch' piece:

They all have wonderful graphics or advertisements for local businesses and the like....

I'll post the 'Seidenstuck' piece again, here, so all 5 pieces can be seen together.......

All the 5 reverse sides are the same:

This reverse, if you look very closely, has a date stamp of '11.8.22' as well as the signature mark. Having had over 100 of these pieces pass through my hands, over the years, all the date stampmarks are in the same format. '22' is of course 1922. I only ever found 1 to be different.............

Most of these pieces are with no stampmark or signature - blank. That definitely seems to be the more usual type you come across. After a certain time, the stadt sparkasse, I think from memory, let other 3rd parties sell the notes....which can be a reason they don't have the 'official' stampmarks. Similar to the 100m linen and silk pieces. Always best to get a piece with a stampmark rather than without!

It catalogues in my book about these pieces, as 'NGM03 2c-spur'
