An area of research and study I am certainly under schooled and lacking on, yet am learning and reading, is Colonial coinage. I just wanted to update some recent news for those also interested in this fascinating area of early American history that the E.P. Newman Numismatic Portal has just announced the acquisition and scanning of noted colonial collector Robert Martin's notebooks on Connecticut coppers, courtesy of American Numismatic Society.
Vietnam veteran Robert Martin (1946-2017) started out collecting large cents in the 1960s and 1970s and was an active participant in the group Early American Coppers (EAC). Developing an interest in colonial coins, he turned to Connecticut coppers in the 1970s and was an active member of the Colonial Coin Collectors Club (C4).
There are a total of (8) notebooks posted at NNP - link below.https://nnp.wustl.edu/library/archivedetail/536317
The Newman Numismatic Portal just keeps on giving and giving, thanks to Eric's wonderful endowment through the sale of his amazing and all inclusive collection that he auctioned off.
