Hi... on the reverse of this quarter, the letter I in United looks like the letter L. Why does this quarter look speckled in color?

IMO, it's a die chip along with environmental toning...safe to spend... to CCF good luck on future finds

The coin had spent sometime outdoors. When originally found is was a dark brown color.

When they are put back into circulation the color changes to black and the tops of the devices try to come back to the gray color.

Just a spender.
