I found this 1957 D penny with what appears to be doubling on "Liberty," and "In God" as well as possibly minor doubling on the date, and doubling that may just be MD on the nose and chin of Lincoln, but I can't find it on variety vista or Wexler (although there are some very similar ones, especially DDO-009 on variety vista, which Wexler lists as WDDO-003). Is this just Machine Doubling that's fooled me? Is it an unlisted DDO? A DDO I'm just not seeing?

Appears to be Machine Doubling. Devices reduced in size and the affected areas appear to be flat and shelf-like

The top of the T in "Liberty" really looks to me like it goes down and comes back up like in DDO-009, but I could just be seeing things.

Note the size of the devices. If they are normal sized and the area on the edge of the devices are reduced, it is not a doubled die, but Machine Doubling. Thus why I make a side by side comparison to see if the devices are reduced, or enlarged:

See how comparing them with a normal coin helps. Also another clue. Look at the closed in letters like 'O' 'D' the hub doubling makes the centers smaller on doubled dies. Also curved letters will show Machine Doubling reduction as one side of the device is thinner and the contour is removed by Machine Doubling. What for these before you have a heart attack. Doubled dies will be easy to spot when you know what to look for.
