It keeps getting better and better!
Kinda nervous for this part, because this is when we get our answer of whether it's real or not. Fingers crossed!

I must admit that I am not well versed on this particular coinage however one think always makes me suspicious is little raised pimples on a struck coin unless the die were pitted. Raised spots of metal on surfaces is usually an indication of a spark erosion counterfeit die. There appears to be a considerable amount of these below the NE stamp. The multiple die cracks may be some sort of indicator for determining genuineness. I have to cede to the experts on this one.

It's the one year anniversary of this epic thread.

I had a dream two nights ago that it came back genuine, and for some reason I had it. The numbers 1652 and IX were in my dream though, so it was a nine pence (?). A little weird, despite my coin obsession I've never dreamed about one before. Hopefully it was a premonition! :)

Wow! This thread is still going on! That "coin" would never get Certified as a NE3D. They would have to be Unique obverse and reverse punches for that to be possible; and the lack of expected, contemporary circulation marks is definitely a Red Flag

Let's not jump to conclusions yet, it has already passed under many eyes and no one has called it out yet...

Well this coin does bear unique placement though... what do you see on this coin that is suspect.

Bear In mined that 1 it does show some wear, and 2 it was found in Europe, suggesting that a visitor to the colonies picked it up and took it with them to their home, where it wouldn't have been used as tender.

I just want to know what you mean with these claims.

Thanks!

Still a long road, the coin went to the image department of the auction house and I received the professional images and video of the coin. Really amazing!!
They are still very optimistic and you can see a beautiful luster to the coin on these photos.
They are not for me to share but hopefully you can see them in a catalog soon .
