I am assuming what I am seeing obverse around and including the digit 8 in the date is a lamination error (or mor accurately pre-delamination?) If not, what would you call it?
Reverse there is also small area some metal missing right of the hen, but this looks more like a dig ( PMD to me).
Grateful for thoughts on both.

@tdz, I agree with everything that you said, except that I would note that the potential lam around the last digit of the date might be a strike-through copper flake. A lam seems like the most likely scenario though.
