I was interested to read this, but the link does not work for me. Even when I plugged the title into Google and then clicked on this link, it would not open.

I don't know why that is. It's an online PDF only document, so if you don't have a PDF reader that may be. I'll try uploading it onto google drive and changing it to a viewing link

What do you get when you combine a scientist and a coin collector?...This article. So, low light levels can lighten patina on silver coins...interesting.

Hey, I resemble that remark!

And yes, same conclusion I reached. Though I think low light levels only affect silver chloride patinas, and more intense light can affect both silver chloride and silver sulfide patinas.

In other words do not leave your Silver coins out in the Sun.

In a sense, light "untarnishes" silver, the silver being broken down to elemental silver and the reacting substances. However, the silver forms a powder on the surface of the item, so there is no benefit.
