I received this coin in a group of Roman bronzes from a seller in the UK. I had some suspicions about it from the photos in the auction, but bid anyway since there were some nice coins in the lot as well which looked authentic.

The obverse is mushy and the style looks off. It is 25 mm. in diameter and weighs 8.52 grams.

The edge is also quite squared off and I suspect it has been filed to hide a casting seam.

I am going with fake but thought I'd ask.

I'm keeping the lot because the other coins are authentic, in my opinion, and worth what I paid, and it's not worth returning them all for this one coin.

Yes that looks true to me also.

Nice Julian 11 bronzes with bull reverse can be quite pricey, and so there is always the temptation to fake them.

The 'gut' suspicion has turned out to be correct in this case.
