Hi all,

Lucky Day! This looks to be a Dbl 979. What do you think? Thanks in advance for comments.

Die Deterioration doubling, and quite common for this date.

Excellent photography, by the way.

Seems to be the case with most my "finds". Thanks for the feedback and photo compliment.

There looks to be some doubling on the left leaf also. I have gone through my 1979 pennies looking for the date doubling and found more than 20 with doubling. They are very interesting when you find similarities between 2 or more coins. Just not going to fund your retirement.

Thanks Rocky,

I can't seem to find any material online. Is there anywhere to look up this variety?

I don't see any low 9 or small 9. From looking at the CaC link, I think that they just had some huge quality control problems for the mintage year. I also think that CaC should include a definition for "within tolerance" for some of their lengthy example listings.
