I recently sent of a bunch of coins from my type set to get CAC'd, I know not everyone is a fan of them, but personally I quite like them. Here are all the coins I sent off, which do you think will CAC and which do you think won't? I have my opinions but would like to hear yours. 1813 1c NGC VF-25: 1835 10c PCGS AU-55: 1855 H1c PCGS MS-64: 1958 50c PCGS MS-67: 1865 2c NGC MS-64RB: 1877-S 50c NGC MS-64: 1882 5c NGC MS-64: 1882-S $1 PCGS MS-67: 1883 3cn NGC MS-64: 1883 5c NGC MS-65: 1907 50c PCGS MS-64: 1927 25c PCGS MS-64FH 1944-D 10c PCGS MS-67FB 1958 25c PCGS MS-67:

Thanks Grapes. Always loved type sets. Always thought a complete set (no gold) was out of reach me. But I got it done. Nothing (in my opinion) like a complete Dansco. 80% of mine are broken out. Yours I see are slabbed. !

Yours I see are slabbed. They're my favorite set type as well. I went for slabbed for a single reason. I like being able to inspect each coin individually. I like being able to pick a coin out of the slab box and get a good look at it under different light. With an album you have to take coins out and put them back in to do that and honestly I don't wanna do that with expensive coins. Quote: Are you trying to fry this old man's brain . Duh, I'm hoping to get some of your coins

Beautiful coins. You don't find many Classic Head Large Cents looking that nice. My favorite 3 were that, the 1907 Barber Half and 1927 SLQ. I think the die crack 2 center should be Red, what do they want? So that might get a CAC just to make up for the under graded MS64RB.

Results are already in! Only a few days in turnarounds, impressive. Sadly my SLHD didn't CAC, not sure why. Not surprised on the SLQ, the spots probably turned them away, very surprised on the capped dime, I thought that had a shot at a gold sticker, and the Classic head doesn't surprise me. I got one gold though, on my 1882 Shield, which was a present surprise for sure. This was kind of a test to myself, can I cherrypick the best quality coins available? To which a 11/14 w/ a gold would suggest yes I can. Overall, am I happy? Yes. There were a few results which annoyed me. The SLHD and Bust 10c not getting it really irks me, and I'm legitimately stunned the 2c didn't gold sticker. Going into this I expected 13/15 and expected the SLQ and Classic Head to fail, which I was right about. Though, as I said the bust dime and SLHD were a huge, and unwelcome, surprise. I mean, look at the pictures, how is that not CAC material? The bust dime has attractive satiny silky luster in hand, and the SLHD has silky soft luster that explodes in the right light. Oh well.

My intuition on whether a coin will CAC is not much better than 50-50. I have a 1913 Eagle in NGC 64 up on Great Collections currently that I was dumfounded about when it didn't get the sticker.

Like, both it and the barber half are a 64. The barber has a cheek scratch and a larger amount of field chatter and it stickers. The SLHD has no field chatter, a single rim mark in the field on the reverse in a protected area and it doesn't CAC.

Honestly though, I'm so glad the Morgan stickered, it's such a nice coin it'd be a shame if it failed

Congrats on the results and a great looking lineup. You've got an eye! Most surprised the SLQ didn't pull one.
