NumisRob - nice gift and I see you have taken great care of it for all these years.
Steve, I think I need to look at my 1980 50 cents now!
I just realised all the 1966 - 1982 2 cent coins have Canberra and Perth varieties. the latter have a blunted 3rd claw on the left foot!

As promised things get streamlined from this point onwards. NZ in 1979 had all coins sans the 2 cents and 5 cents issued. Some of the mid and late 70s dates I am missing some, but mostly it is because they are ordinary and worn, the wallpaper NCLT and extra issues, bullion etc don't exist in the functionalist 70s. My dollar run also has stopped, and I will be showing dollars only in 1977, 76, 74, 72, 71, 70, 69 and 67. Thank god for Pepactonius who has given us a superb 1979 proof dollar and a wonderful shot The 1979 dollar was the last to use the generic coat of arms design from 1967, but first to have the Berry effigy of the Queen. The average condition of 70s circulation coins for me is cloudy VF and even F. These 2 are at least nearing EF. A 20 cent with some lustre and a decent 1 cent. Less coins in a shot means better quality shot too.

My Australian selection is even more streamlined and its going to be 1 - 3 coins per year back to 1966. Once we hit shillings and florins that will change, so bear with me. Even Australia, a country known for all its commemoratives and NCLT now, was issuing nothing other than straight circulation coins in the 1970s, the only extras are the 50 cent coins of 1977 and 1970. The first bullion NCLT issue was the $200 gold coin of 1980, followed by the $10 silver ones in 1982 (I showed one). In 1986 the Gold nugget bullion series came out and then the floodgates opened! For 1979, its the last year of my shiny pieces, most of my 1967 - 1978 coins are cloudy VF things. For 1979, I offer a AU/BU selection of 2c, 5c and 10c pieces, I have all the others (All issued in 79), but they are all cloudy VF.

Another oppressively hot day here, 29 degrees, not quite Perth levels, but is 99% humidity. 1978 may be one of my most forgettable years ever, just two coins to show (But I have them all). All coins except the 2 cents were issued for circulation and all had regular numbers except a very high number of 10 cent coins (Probably why my one is quite nice). The dollar I don't have showed the Beehive, which had been completed in 1978 yet designed in 1962! For comic relief, a photo of me exists from this year where I am wearing flares and have a kiddie afro! (Not showing it).

Very little Australia to show, I have all of the coins - but all are cloudy VF examples except these. There was Machin design overkill in the early 80s. Here is a decent 2 cent and 5 cent coin from 1978! My Australia 1977 to 1975 is very low key but will pick up in the 1960s, I have more to show in the NZ department for the 1976/77 years though. Plus I will really come alive in the Predecimal era

More cheap slacks from Woolworths and given my pale skin, my afro made me look more like baby Leo Sayer than Hendrix (Whom I love, being a Prince fan - Hendrix is not a far stretch ) My 1970 50 cent coin has the normal 7 although its not exactly flat. If it helps it is virtually UNC at least and looks nice. I also have 2 x AU 1969 50 cent coins and 4 of the silver 1966 ones! Mean while the thread is always open to more coins and contributors! Especially now in these 1970s coin doldrums, too far back for modern commems and not far enough back for all the classic stuff

Interesting - we completely forgot about the Fantasy issues.
He also issued a range of banknotes from 10 cents to $5 and did well issuing stamps from 1973 onwards. The stamps had a big religious theme as Prince Leonard was a HARDCORE Christian.
Prince Leonard died recently and the state was reabsorbed by Australia, it all started when he refused to pay some huge taxes in the early 70s.
