Hello everyone.

I am wondering what you guys feel about this 1890 S and 1879 Morgan silver dollar I bought at an auction.

I feel upon investagating it I ml ay have over paid but it is a date I don't have so it is what is.

Opinions and observations please and thanks everyone.

Always best to remove coin from holder before taking photos whenever possible. As to value, check eBay sold values for an idea.

If I was buying those two coins, I'd offer $40 for the 1890-S and $36 for the 1879.
If you are more interested in what those coins are worth then you seem to be more of a flipper than a collector. None of the coins in my collection have any monetary value; they are all 'hole fillers'.
The only way you'll find the true value of any of YOUR coins is when you sell them.

Yea that makes very good sense. I have no interest in selling them I was hoping to make an investment that will grown in value in time.

Just of course be very careful not to damage the coin (or your fingers) when prying the two halves apart.

There should be a seam on the edge of the case where the two halves of the case meet. You can use a fine blade to carefully press on that seam, slightly spreading the gap. You can then work it with your fingers to split the case, freeing the coin inside.
