Hi Karloning, I do already have that coin, I was just saying that I don't see that many of them. Which is the unknown soldier?

Steve :)

I noodled one and have just searched it. Apparently it is one of a set of 14, carded. I guess I got one that escaped

Nice Anzac 20c Karloning!

I find NCLT 20c much less than $1 specimens.

Finally got around to noodling some more 20c. A bag of 500 this time. No wavy coins but one of the Coming Home coins is in good nick and will probably replace the one in my collection. Good spread of Kiwi coins as well.

Almost nearing my first 100 1966 coins!

Total 20c coins noodled = 6440
Total no. of 1966 coins = 93

Number of wavy coins = 0

Hi ryurazu

I see you noodled a lot of 1981 20 cents.
Don't forget to see if there is a dot above the R in Australia. Very hard to find

Seeing all those Keewee (As you guys say it!) 20 cents take me down memory lane back to the80s and 90s and also finding Australian interlopers in our change.

Everything up to the 20 cents was interchangeable, but not 50c due to their scalloped edges.

If you guys don't want them, send em home and make them 501's.

This 1966 Wavy coin, is an elusive little b#@!$r isn't it.
Loving Halfcrowns. British and Commonwealth coins 1750 - 1950 and anything Kiwi.
If it's round, shiny and silvery I will love it.

Well another bunch of 500 coins and finally cracked 100 1966 coins and still the wavy eludes me.

Total 20c coins noodled = 6940
Total no. of 1966 coins = 103

Number of wavy coins = 0

Was a bit concerned that something was amiss but my fear was allayed when I an Apteryx mantelli appeared in the last few handfuls. Not sure why so many Canberra coins keep popping up. And my first Fijian interloper.

Nice finds David.
I very rarely see the Canberra coin over here.
This week I found a Tasmania 2001 50c and a 1979 NZ 20c.

Good luck in your search for the wavy 20c.

Walter Mantell, great naturalist and some consider a ecological villan for the number birds he killed and stuffed here for British Museums.

Good use of the Linnean name for the Kiwi bird!

The good news for you is that New Zealand only went decimal in 1967, so your chances of finding a 1966 New Zealand coin are none to non existent - so no red herrings from our end of the ditch.

Loving your thread though, the wavy is out there. Hand on my heart and hands across the ditch in Kiwiland.

The wavies wave away!

It is reassuring, somehow, that Australians can be just as obsessed with varieties as we are in North America.
