I recently read about the coin, it's quite fascinating!
$77,500
"Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get." - Forrest Gump The concept of maturity is complex. While one's capacity to be mature can be correlated with age, someone's overall maturity and respect for life is not. Maturity is formed through experience and perception. Human progress can only be achieved through trial and error.

Quote: How many are out there, given /a/ nobody was looking and /b/ the mint knew about them but kept quiet... that suggests the setup error was identified, but after a day's production was mixed in with the other presses output.
The Philly mint can reportedly produce 1.8M coins/hour using all of their presses. So that's what 50-60 thousand per hour? 450,000 per day from a single press...
At this point though there is only one die pair and in 5 years no others have come to light .... yet. And if it was identified that probably means the error was caught early enough for them to think they nipped it in the bud. And if it was clandestine, a dealer would have probably "found" all of them.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

I'm going VERY HIGH, but only because of the Del Monte $20 that sold for $396,000 just a week ago. Even though this is completely different, It seems that error and varieties are HOT!
$302,000
I'm so glad I started collecting error and variety coins in 1969 when I was 8 years old. To think that my Local Coin Shop thought I was silly way back then just makes me smile a little more!
