Hi all, There are some Canadian coins that I've been searching for but they continue to elude me. I want to make sure these actually exist in circulation so I maintain hope that one day I will find one. I've looked through J&M and Charlton but can't quite figure it out (some of them are more recent than J&M and my Charlton go to). Can anyone confirm if these were all issued for circulation?
1. 2017 Toonie - was it only the Vimy variety or was there also a polar bear? 2. 2012 Toonie - non-security variety 3. 2017 Loonie - was there a standard loon variety? Or only the 2 commemorative varieties? 4. 2012 Loonie - non security variety 5. 2010 Loonie - loon variety 6. 2004 Loonie - loon variety 7. 2003 Loonie - crown variety 8. 2017 Quarter - caribou variety 9. 2001 Quarter - non P variety 10. 1999 Quarter - caribou variety 11. 1992 Quarter - caribou variety 12. 2017 Dime - schooner variety 13. 2017 Nickel - beaver variety 14. 2003 Nickel - crown variety 15. 2000 Nickel - P variety
Thanks very much for your help.

I believe #2,4,5,6,7,14 and 15 were all issued for circulation. The others were not.

Hi, I have been roll hunting for many years, and I will tell you I have found lots of 9, 10, 11,14, 15. so much now that I have stopped keeping them. The quarters were part of the PL sets so now people are cutting them up and spending them.
also look for the 2001 Nickle no p its out there and I've found enough I am not keeping any more. While your looking at nickels, look for the 1990 bare belly and the 1996 attached 6 (you will find the bare bellies but the attached 6 is hard to find)
Cheers

2017 has a circulation strike, but only available in mint packaging or special edition roles. They were not released for general circulation, only the 150th anniversary coins were generally teleased.

2012 non security Loon/toonie are tough to find, smaller mintage and armored car accident resulted in huge number not being released for circulation. Can be found, but tough

Thanks everyone. Based on responses and double-checking on some sites, it does appear that all of these coins were issued for circulation. If anyone knows for sure that any of these were not circulated, please let me know.
Thanks everyone

The 2017's have a circulation strike, but were not issued for circulation, hope that makes some sense. The mint sold them at 2x Face Value in special rolls. It is possible you might some that someone mistakenly dumped into circulation, but they were not commonly circulated.

I got a 2012 non-security twoonie in change on a short trip to Niagara Falls that year - I must have been very lucky!

Quote: 4. 2012 Loonie - non security variety - apparently issued but I have never found one searching $10,000 of rolls They're all, or were, in a ditch up north. . Quote: 7. 2003 Loonie - crown variety - not sure, I have never found one Never found 1, but bought 1. Remember those days when you could attend a coin show and make cash purchases.
