Id say MS-66/67 in that range.

I think 67 is possible. Thinking this might be a proof?

I will say it is not a proof.

That's the first 1882 I've seen with the die break returning to the rim through the date. Maybe an RCD? I've never seen an MS-67 1882 before, but this one sure looks like it could be one of those great white whales. PCGS seems to have a ceiling at MS-66 on Shields, so I have to say they would call this one MS-66. Again, IMHO, it's a full step better than that. Fantastic coin, no matter what the slab says. Yours or soon to be?

Quote: Yours or soon to be? Already mine Quote: Maybe an RCD? No displacement of the die, so at the time of striking just a die break.

66+ I looked at some MS67's and I like this one better, but the luster may have kept it out of a 67 holder.

MS65 the tiny little planchet flaws hold it back for me, though they certainly are not too distracting. Even it was a perfect planchet I don't think there is enough luster to break into the 67 territory.
My 2 cents and I'm sticking with it.
