Probably a bit of both. (It is on the side of the devices that both thing could happen) It isn't always one thing happens to a coin, several things can happen. On this one, Die aging and post strike movement could have affected the coin. If it was on the opposite side of the devices, then it would have been just one thing. Machine Doubling. ( DDD isn't on the inner side of the devices, just the outer side closer to the rims direction.
