I'll say PR68 DCAM, spot west of the eye just looks like a reflection to me.

Quote: Tell us about the apparent spot across from the eye. Quote: Yes, interested in what that 'feature' is just west of the nose bridge. Well, ok, I will. it looks like the field is not microscopically even and is creating shadows when viewed from different angles. Here are some close=ups from different angles This picture is from one of my 1973 uncirculated coins showing same area. Edited for spelling error.

Could that uneven spot be from the Reverse's Eagle wing right at the bend? it seems to be in the correct location to be.
Coop, Could yo please do one of your multi-color overlays for me?

If this is the area in question then to me it looks just like more of the black shadows (with a white spot of dust?) that are on the center and the right side fields of the coin (as Ty2020 stated) Another real nice proof Ike - I could see this reaching PF69DCAM

Having a die clash on a proof coin would be pretty unlikely. Modern proofs are so hard to photograph because of their reflectivity that I find it near impossible to grade from a photo. The artifacts from the photography tend to hide any minor imperfections. But it sure looks like a nice proof Ike!

Quote: If this is the area in question then to me it looks just like more of the black shadows (with a white spot of dust?) It is the area of interest. It is just dust - look at the closeup I provided. and I agree with you as I stated above. Just ruling out everything that could have caused that shadow or ripple in the field. It is nothing more than a near perfect (and Magnificent) Clad proof Eisenhower coin. Edited to fix improper punctuation.
