to the CCF The correct terminology is Double d Die. What you have is called MD ( Mechanical Doubling) It is known as one of the worthless types of Doubling. Ps Nice photography, It always helps when you can see all the detail.

I used a usb microscope from Amazon cost like $15 works wonders for looking at coins. And thanks for info. I have a question. What is the difference between this coin and a double die. Because to me this one looks pretty darn doubled lol.

Again, it is called a Doubled Die. There is a big difference between DD and a MD. Click on the light blue Mechanical Doubling for more info. You are going to have to do some research before you get to be able to tell the difference. Also there is a wealth of information under the Search button at the top left hand corner.

with jimmyD, but there is one major exception coin with Machine Doubling, the 1888-O Morgan hot lips variety. That is a nice example you got there. Were are all here to help each other .

Wexler's is a good site to read up on doubled dies versus worthless doubling, http://doubleddie.com/144801.html and http://doubleddie.com/144822.html Try to get used to saying " doubled" die, not "double" die. Double die implies that there are two dies, doubled die correctly describes the process - the die was doubled during hubbing.

Nice example of MD - I'd put it in a 2x2 just for that.
