Can you buy 90% silver halves from a bank?
If they happen to be in the rolls you are buying, sure.

Few years back I bought a roll of Walking Liberty halves directly off a line teller, I paid her $50. That roll was part of her personal stash. When I checked dates later, there was a 1938D in the mix.

I am done, I went thru the first bag very carefully, but it was killing my neck.so the second was more cursory. I counted 9 unique marks and several generic dots from previous searchers. However I found 1 64, dirty and scuffed, 1 68, in much better shape, and it looks like it has an alloy issue on the obverse, a couple doubled dies, I am much more sure of these than the one I posted pics of. a few with impressive Machine Doubling and one counter stamped w/ a iron cross type image. will post some pics later, esp of the 68, I want to know if it is an alloy issue.
