Looking for some info on this coin I found. I have a scale so I'm positive it's copper, just trying to figure out exactly what I'm looking at. The Rim is what caught my eye and now after a lot of googling I started to see the doubling on the back. Any ideas?
Looks like a tilted die issue. Do you have Machine Doubling on your coin? (just noticed the CENT and the base of the building, you do have Machine Doubling. So on these I'm thinking they are the looseness of the machine creating that affected on the edge of the rim. It makes it look like a thick fin. Most often they fins are thin and flatten quickly, but this one looks like the issue was sever, thus the Machine Doubling as well. So it is not a variety coin or an error, just a sloppy Machine Doubling issue. The mark from the statue to the rim, looks like a contact mark. Note how on the 'C' on cent is was moved out of alignment for a bit? Just a spender coin.
