I have found this 50 cent coin with cracked edges. I was wondering if it was die cracks. Sorry, I could upload the photos of the front and back of the coin since both were to big.

In the photo the crack are not just in that one spot, the coin has it around the entire edge.

I would like the help.
Thanks

Not die cracks - deeply imbedded partial planchet lamination.

During the rolling process, the metal strip from which blanks are punched, sometime a drop of oil gets rolled in and leaves a flat cavity inside the strip.
What you see here is evidence of the edge of such a cavity left behind by the oil drop; it causes the metal strip to form laminations or layers.
