I found this quarter which seems to be near uncirculated. It has a very deep hole in the face of the large bat. Underneath the hole is still the general design of the bat's face, which leads me to believe this is some sort of strike through. there is some scuffing to the field next to the bat's face as well, but no other scuffing or major marks on the rest of the coin. The obverse is completely unaffected, which is more proof to it being a strike through. I'd like to get some thoughts on what it could be, and what it might be worth. Thanks for reading!

Odd reverse seems to have been the anvil die ( could that be feeder finger scraps on the field left of the bats head [on first pix]).? Nice find..... and of course on a Philly coin

That's a very dramatic strike through. Very cool!

Not sure if it was a one-off or not, but a similarly struck through bat sold on ebay some months ago for over $30. At least at the time something like this was quite sought after.

Nice find! Post a dramatic face struck through week I guess.

Struck through "gritty" grease? That does also look like feeder finger scrapes. John1
