We need to know what it is and see some clearer photos. Also a copper post 82 or something like that should be in Modern Variety and Error forum. It is a Lincoln cent if that is what you are wondering.

Its a small date 82 brass cent, and judging the condition with the picture provided, its worth one cent.

OP (Original Poster) - Your 2.5g large date is a a copper-plated zinc cent, again very common.

The OP is in California (as I) so if I was just starting out I'd be very happy to find a small date copper Philly in that condition...Nice find, good hole filler, best of luck with future finds.......and keep posting when needing answers

I think there was a small date 1982 D that was struck in bronze planchet, that's the one worth a good chunk of change.
