Went to my local shop today. Traded coins I've had for many years that have been replaced in my sets,3 well circulated Franklin half dollars, two circulated Walking Liberty halves and a circulated Mercury dime plus $40 for this 1899-O Morgan. I like the early smaller ANA holders, and I really like the looks of this coin. What do you think?

Nice piece, strong 63. I've never seen a reverse hologram like that one.

Same here. I wonder if it's just a result of lighting. Otherwise it looks like the Gen 1 type 11 slab.

And it is a very nice example for the grade. Congrats!

the 99(O) was one of the better struck years at the mint. there is a little weakness around the ear and breast but everything else looks good. I dont care for toned coins as you are never sure how they will age. this one has nice peripheral toning that does not detract from the coin. the reverse looks MS64. obverse marks, scratches and scuffs across the cheek and neck will pull the grade down to a MS63 which is the correct grade on the slab. you got a good price on this one.

Thank you all. Photos with Canon 80D and 50mm lens. I found a portable light that I can use to help light the coins.
