I've been wondering about these three coins of mine for a while now.
1968 S nickel - OMM? It's hard for me to tell about this one
1968? Dime - is this just damage ? I assume so, just not 100% sure. Also what's up with the rim?
1977 nickel - weird pattern on reverse.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

All of these coins were damaged after leaving the mint. They are worth face value.
It isn't searched if you dont know what you are looking for.

1968 S nickel - Post mint damage; it's taken a direct hit on the mintmark, smooshing it flat in places.

1968? dime - I have no idea exactly what caused that, but it's certainly post-mint damage. It probably got caught in some kind of heavy machinery and stayed there a while. The rim looks similar to the effect seen when a clad coin is dunked in coca-cola or something similarly acidic, but I suspect it's just a by-product of the whole getting-stuck-in-machinery thing.

1977 nickel - the "weird pattern" looks like the adhesive pattern from duct tape or some similar kind of tape. I assume it was stuck there for quite a while. MY guess is that it would come off completely in acetone.

Here I am where I must be,

A really good place to learn and compare against for RPMs and OMMs is varietyvista.
