Echizento: A Buyer Asked Me This About A Leo VI

He asks this and I thought I should ask you sir:

"The issue is about the Obverse lettering on this one: + (LEOn bAS-ILEVS ROm) This is how the Reference Sear 1729 indicates that this coins spelling should be, however as you can see this coin is missing the letter "n" after the LEO on the beginning of the Obverse spelling...? I have several Leo VI coins (...) and this is the first time that I have come across this, can I get your feedback on why this might be, I am trying to get some additional opinions from more experienced coin people on some coin forums however. I would like to hear your view also?"

The die cutters of Byzantine coins were quite often not educated or at most, only semi literate.
The result can often be a blundered legend.

I am quite happy about the authenticity of this coin.

Sorry for the late reply. Sel is correct, this a die cutter mistake. Makes the coin a little more interesting.
