Hello I am wondering if this could be a double die on this 2018 D penny. Are these split serifs on L and I in Liberty?

I don't think so. Looks like some kind of light/glare induced doubling?

There is a slight DDD issue, but not enough to be be a premium for this die event. Pretty much a normal coin.

I'm no expert, so I can't comment on your coin. However, I often make the mistake of seeing doubling through my USB microscope. Mine has multiple led lights built in. I'm guessing that it causes the impression of doubling and split serifs. When I zoom out and take larger photos, I look at the surface of each letter/number and I no longer see doubling or split serifs. I am trying to just use a loop and a single lamp with a white plastic bag over it to diffuse the light (don't do this on incandescent light bulbs, they will get too hot). Good Luck and keep hunting!
