Hello, I'm new to this form and was wanting to get started in collecting coins. I came across a 1964 D nickel that has a little hole in the middle of the Head. My buddy that works at a pawn shop seems to think it could be an error, but I was hoping to get some advice from others with more experience. I really appreciate your time and help if you could respond and let me know if you think this is an error or man made.. thank you..

Definitely damage on this one.

Agree, it has been damaged. There is no way that could happen during the striking of the coin.
Ask your buddy how much he will give you for the "error". Anything over 5 cents and your ahead.

Agree, post strike damage, not a minting error.

No offense to your buddy, but my experience dealing with pawn shops is that they profess to know everything about everything while actually knowing nothing about anything.
