Found this in a nickel role and wondering if it's a strike through
or die chip error

Looks like a strike through grease.

The area above is indented, can a strike through cause that? I have an American cent that has a grease strike. The words In God and the Li in liberty are missing but no indent

Ya looks like Struck Through Grease, nice find. Still haven't found a Greaser myself.
