Another with an interesting stain of numbers on Liberty's face and toning. You can still see the feathers on the breast, but the rub on it is unattractive.

I'm not sure if it's XF or low AU?

I'm going to say AU50. I wanted to say EF45 due to lack of lustre but the details are that of a low AU example.

actually a decent strike for 86(O) which are normally weak. surface preservation is a negative as well as eye appeal. AU53 tops. not at that value though

I'd go higher on this one. I think the apparent lack of luster is more the toning of the coin than wear from circulation. So AU-55.

I've been chirping about this for years, so everyone just roll your eyes and let me do it again. There is a grading gap between EF-45 and AU-50 that needs to be filled with an EF-48 assigned grade. The bourse floor lingo generally is "AU slider."

This coin is a classic example. EF-48.
