Hello all. Rounding out my eight coin selection for submission.
Question: This coin looks like VF details (cleaned) to me. It's still a tougher date/mm. Is it worth getting a details grade on a coin such as this authenticated and slabbed? What about paying for the Vam-3, capped die attribution?
My first submission, thanks for all the help and advice!
Only faint indication of a possible cleaning (to me) is the dirt remaining between date digits and some letters. That could be the leftover stuff from a cleaning attempt. Otherwise the coin is nice and deserves a straight VF-30.
Nice coin with pleasing appearance. Look forward to hearing how it grades at PCGS. The 1879-CC dollar has been a favorite of mine - it was the first CC coin I ever owned, given to me by my Grandma back around '71 or so.
