Lower half of obverse is very weak. I'll say VF-30 net.

Looks to have the typical obverse and reverse clashing for this issue.

It is more pronounced in this other 1834 Half Cent in my collection below, but the clashing is clearly visible here too.

I'll go with a VF30 as well. $81 seems like high retail. The color looks a bit strange but that could just be the lighting. Not a bad looking coin.

Just to be complete, it's a C-1 variety (that's the ONLY variety for this date).
Rarity-1
It's either a Die State 2.0 or 3.0.
I can't tell because the images are not sharp enough.
Describe it as if there were no picture.

I am also at VF35 for the OP example, but I really like the other example you posted from your collection.

I wanted to say VF35-XF40 based on the sellers' pics, but in-hand I now say VF30.

I'm in at VF-30, straight grade. The 1834 prices are almost flatlined in the VF range, so the numerical grade won't move the meter. It's clearly better than F, and that's what really matters for value.

It's definitely a fair price for a decent mid-grade coin.
