I have been trying to figure out if this is an error or if I am just hopeful. The date seems to be on there with shadow number beside them and you can see 3-4 'shadow' 5's at the end. "RTY" is very faint at the top, as is "ER DOLLAR" on the reverse same area. "AMERICA" and "RIBUS" appear odd. Washington's bust appears to have issues with nose, cheek, forehead, chin, hair and neck as well as having an "aura" around its entirety. There is a wedge missing from rim above 'Y'.
Appears top be a common, well-circulated '85 D--complete with post strike wear, nicks, and digs; nearly all random, with the chance of a few made intentionally. It is in this mix of dings and nicks that Pareidolia comes into play. Hoping others will comment.
Note how on the missing letters on Liberty, that where they weaken are wider? That indicates that the issue there was a Grease Fill on the devices. Because the devices are tapered at the tops, when the grease is in these areas, the only points that will form is in the wider area of a partial fill of grease: Depending on how much grease and it is is even fill or angle filled, the devices on the coins will be different, but the devices affected will be wider. That is what you are seeing. No premium for this, just an explanation of what you are seeing.
