Hi all,

I recently obtained a 1911 3 Kopek coin. It's diameter is 27.8mm whereas Numista lists the diameter as 28.36. The edge is reeded and in good condition so the reduced diameter is not owing to wear. KM does not list a diameter so can anyone verify 28.36? Is it possible a fake? Wouldn't have thought so for a fairly common copper coin.

Thanks

Krause/NGC calls it 28 mm. https://www.NGCcoin.com/price-guide...duid-1522938

Probably it's fine.

1/2 of a mm is really quite a small difference.

Pics as requested.

@scstrawn - I guess it's relative to coin diameter. I certainly wouldn't expect a difference of 0.56mm in modern coins and I would have thought European empire coins from the 1900s wouldn't have that kind of variation either. Am I correct or wrong with that assumption?

It seems like the diameter could vary.

Thanks Steve, looks like the diameter tolerance was a bit loose.

BTW - Should send some more coins your way in the next 7-14 days.
