Thanks Decaf94drew. There's one for sale on ebay that is upgraded that was listed a few days ago. Bidding for that starts at $14. I want to see where that one goes. MrBreeze has already sent his in so it'll be graded before mine even makes it to the TPG'S. I have a few coins in line to be sent out before these so it will be some time before these make it there. How many do you have? Show us what you got. Here's a few individual pics I randomly took the other day

Thanks ijn1944. I think so too. Has anything like these been found before?

Looks like these are a piece of the puzzle in the striation lines on coins conversation which has to my knowledge not been completely resolved after reading a post from this site. It is said to possibly be damage from rolling the stock to correct thickness with dirty rollers. These coins offer more information as to the cause of this error. More pictures to help define this UFO. I think this turns striation lines into an annealing issue

I'm not sure what might be causing the discoloration on your quarters but with so many from original rolls it seems like something is happening from the mint.

I like the burnishing images Coop provided but isn't burnishing used only for proof coins?

Thanks Petespockets55 and Dearborn. I think this is an error that has yet to be defined according to what I've been reading. There's a post on this site about striation line coins that starts to cover the issue but remains open to discussion. I dont think any with the crescent shape were a part of the equation at the time. Not that these were the first created or found but maybe the others were questioned due to circulation. I wasnt aware this is a questionable error until a few days ago. I'm just confused looking for any info as to what exactly I'm looking at. These may or may not give some insight into the cause

Burnishing has been discussed as a potential cause along with staining from dirty rollers or possibly annealing. I dont think there's a definitive cause that's accepted. The lines in the crescent shape made me think this was from annealing but I'm far from an expert. Maybe someone with more experience can explain what's going on because I certainly cant

I was thinking roller lines as well. I've got a Lincoln with very similar features.

Just got mine back from TPG today. Came back MS65 Improperly Annealed. These 2 examples were the 2 of the 11 I found that had the most discoloration across the obverse and reverse. The others that I found (all in the same uncirculated box from the bank) have various degrees/patterns of the discoloration.

Thoughts on whether or not to send the rest in? Any increased value?

Thanks for the update MrBreeze. The ones you have are beautiful. I'm unsure of value but I'd sure like to buy one of those. Can you post some more pictures? I like the look of these coins
