What, no cup holder?

Been back and forth from one platform to another since the early 90s. Windows relies on memorizing steps to get things done while Macs are designed to try to be intuitive where people can figure out where to go to get things done.

So its easy to see why some people are confused from one system to another. I just want reliability. And until Windows 10, put side by side (and I always used both systems for working and programming anyway - not just a casual internet user), until Windows 10, Microsoft was pathetic comparably for RELIABILITY. On the other hand, until OS X, Macs were overly proprietary and, despite trying to be intuitive, were not that good at being intuitive.

I didn't/don't care the name on the machine or OS. I just want a machine that I can get work done on rather than having to spend more time trying to get the machine to work right so I could get work done. So back and forth over the fence I went.

But...its b/c I was spoiled in the late 80s with a Commodore Amiga computer (again, programmer not just casual user). After the lousy marketing strategy of Commodore killed them off, I spent over a decade wishing for a competent platform (comparably speaking).

The AMIGA was light years (par secs!) ahead of their time, and I still miss some things about them vs. modern platforms. One day we might get back to being as good in some areas as that (now) antique computer tech had!

I miss actual multitasking, powerful intuitive programs that I prefer over today's lame-by-comparison options (structure, layout, and simplicity of use in particular), being able to flip the power switch to turn it off instead of going through menus and choices, being able to easily integrate sounds into any action, truly animated mouse cursors (not just two pictures), oh-so-very-rare crashing, no re-installation of anything ever needed, No Nanny-intensive mindset in the programming compared to time wasting modern, "Are you sure you want to_____?," system customization that puts modern platforms to shame, etc. etc.
