Machine Doubling around the date. If you see it elsewhere on the coin, please show us a closeup of where you see other doubling.

If you are looking for a doubled die on the outsides of the devices, your looking in the wrong areas. It is the centers of the devices where you should be looking. On the 1972 cents, when you look at the date there is a clue:

Note the widening on a doubled die is on the centers of the devices, not on the outside or inside of the devices.
