What are your thoughts on this Peace dollar?
I've never dipped a coin and thought this would be a good candidate.

AU58. Not much point in dipping or trying to help the eye appeal IMO, given the year and condition. I'd leave it be, but if you chose to dip it, not much to lose.

It would be my first go at dipping and I don't want to chance it by over dipping it on a nicer coin.

Not a bad candidate for experimental dipping. I used mainly canadian silver coinage for my tests. Have fun!

There are many contact marks and chatter on this coin. I may have to agree with AU-58.

Larger images would help, but this looks high AU (slider unc) to me.

Not much wear evident. Slider. I'll say MS-62. I don't think it needs dipping. Not an ugly coin.

this coin requires specialized conservation. as a dip will still leave marks where the black toning is.. a concentrated effort is required on the dark areas before a dip would be of any benefit..

Silverwolf- If you don't mind elaborating on specialized conservation. Unless it's a secret proprietary blend

how much value would it add to the coin if you carefully dipped it? I would leave it as is. I think its too dinged up to pull a 58 so I'm at AU55
