Umberto I. was King of Italy from 1878 until 1900. Already early on in his life Umberto played a big part within the Italian military. He took part in the Italian Wars of Independence and many more, including wars fought in Europe but also in Africa. Umberto was the one that approved the Triple Alliance with Austria-Hungary and Germany and showed great interest in both countries. Anarchists were amongst his greatest enemies and one of them led to his death in 1900 where he was killed by an Italian-American anarchist.
