I see a coin struck from a tired die, circulation flattening, and MD on STATES. Let's see what others think.

Machine Doubling on the reverse. Not a doubled die. When you look at variety vista listings for DDOs, 1973 is pretty much the last listed year. On the reverse, about the same except for the class 9 DDRs on the reverse in areas most often miss. So check the post 2000 listings to see if your looking in the wrong direction?

@Grushna I highly suggest using a variety reference site like variety vista or Wexler's die varieties. It will greatly cut down on the number of misattributuons you make. Also, reading a general error and varieties site like error-ref will help you to better understand what types of errors are actually possible and what they look like.
