Hey guys anybody use one? I picked one up for $15 new and it works great other than my lighting. Does anyone use other than microscope lighting? Like table lamps or something?

Not quite sure what you mean by 'unpluggable' ... do you have a photo or a link?

Lighting is a problem with almost all usb scopes. I have two scopes and had to block off all but one on-board light and had to put a filter over that one. I also sometimes turn off all on-board lights and use a hand held LED flashlight with a filter over it. John1

I picked it up off ebay actually in an actual brick and mortar store here in Tucson for a negotiated $15. I try to never pay full price for stuff.

Quote: We're you able to get regular like daylight photos out of them john1? No. For daylight pics I use a point-n-shoot camera. With the scope I use the hand held flashlight most times. John1

Thx John1, I just cannot seem to get a white type picture. I`m going to try a desk lamp with an incandescent bulb to see if that will work. Iv`e tried the flashlights but they just don`t seem to work so well, not a white light. My biggest concern is missing something because the lighting is not right. Guess its just going to be experimentation until I get it right. You have seen my pictures, have you paid them anu attention? And do you know what I mean by "white" pictures? Or "daylight"?

Are you talking about a LED flashlight with a "cool temperature" LED bulb? That is what I use. John1

Heck John1, I don't know. This is all new to me. I've got a $200 dollar stinger led rechargeable flashlight I bought when I was diesel mechanicing, I've got a free harbor freight blue led flashlight and they're both pretty stinking bright. Really bad when it comes to my silver stuff.

I used one of those Harbor Freight free ones but as I said you need to put a filter over the end of it. I think I used frosted Scotch tape. Layer it until you get the amount of light that works best for you. Also, make sure to block off any room light when you are taking pics.I use a greeting card to shield the coin from surrounding light. Thx again John1. Thought I replied last night. Getting old. Sorry. I will try that and some other things I learned off YouTube.

You are welcome. The lighting is a challenge no matter what scope/camera you use. Practice-practice-practice. John1
