Hope I can explain this right, every thing has been working great till now. I just took a pic of a coin and it came back and said " EOS Utility - cannot write to the selected folder, select another folder"

The date and place for the pic is right in DPP just no pic. So I made a new folder, made all the changes, it worked the date came up but no pic. There is lots of free space on the hard drive.

Any body know what to do?

Can you pull the card from the camera and insert into a card reader on your computer? Back when had access to my wife's old EOS, this was my preferred transfer method.

Your card may need to be reformated. Try what JBuck stated but the time I got this message my SD card was corrupted.

Yes, that is where I was heading. I did not want to place blame (jinx) until he could confirm separate from the camera. Sometimes the act of re-seating the card (eject and insert) may help as well. Another reason why I like using an independent card reader.

If you have a card in the camera, remove it. Works much better without it, and no chance of it causing problems.

Thanks guys, there is no card , BUT I did get it.
It's a new computer with lots of hard drive room, I never shut it down so I thought " ram memory" rebooted and tried again all is good.

Lets just call this a senior moment.
