This coin is graded, many many many years ago, as an MS63. I was thinking about submitting it again. Thoughts?

Definitely looking better than a 63, but hard to tell with the photos. Maybe a 65?

Thanks for your reply. About how much do you think that would increase it's value? Obviously grading the coin has its costs. Is it worth it do you think?

I don't see any S?
Unless you think it goes from 63 to 65 it doesn't seem worth it for a 1898-P.

OK, the "S" there just means "silver", as in silver dollar. It's not the mint mark.

Grading standards have changed a lot since they used holders like that... ...so it is very likely that it is a higher grade than 63, but ya, we could use better pictures. If it is a 65, I would say Yes, it is probably worth grading-according to PCGS, a 65 would be worth around $260

The coin is in a OGH rattler holder that has some value. If the coin grades MS64, you will break even or loose a little money with the grading fees. If it grades MS65, you will make a little money. The coin is a common date, and not much upside in re-submitting.

strike is a little weak for this year. I think it has a shot at MS64 but not 65. the chance it would pull a 65 is too low to submit it.

Nothing less than MS-65 and possibly a 66.

I say MS65. I would keep it in the original holder just because it is a piece of history.
