I need some help with this. Is this one where grease filled the die or was it done after it left the mint. Backstory: my grandfather gave me a 5 gallon water jug full of pennies he's collected through pocket change over the last 4 -5 decades. There is a lot of good ones in there but this is the first I've seen missing something. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

New images sorry about the previous. Was in a rush for daughters volleyball tournament.

Looks like many of the devices are affected.Your images are too far away or too close. So keep trying to get better ones. It will eventually happen with the right setup. Trying different magnification oculars would be a start. A scope if nice it its a zoom, rather than fixed power lens. Mine zooms from 3.5X thru 35X That way you can get the shot that you want easier. More than 35X is over kill. We are looking for stronger devices, not molecules. If we look to close, nothing can look like something. (and will definitely be too minor) Buyers of varieties when buying will look with a 10X loupe. It not see there, then it is too minor to seal with.

I'd like to suggest using your phone's camera, which you should be able to zoom in 5 or 6X, which is fine for showing your coin to us. We ask for overall photos of your entire coin, both sides, then closeups of what you'd like us to see (and tell us your thoughts as well).

Looks like a keeper to me...Acetone bath (for a few minutes) than rinse with distilled H2O and into a 2x2 it should go.

Great updated photos...

Good luck on future finds, have fun and keep asking when needed....

Nice example of struck-through-grease. A question, does grease contribute to surface mottling?
