Congrats, Loonie! In keeping with the request made during GTP Season 78 for more information on the items submitted, I will provide some background on this piece.

While no definitive grading guidelines exist for Hard Times Tokens and their quality varied somewhat from strike to strike, we can only estimate the grade here. I've found that the eagle's eye begins to go away around VF range and that's where I have this one. The HT-73 dies were engraved by Edward Hulseman and were struck at the private Scovill Mint of Waterbury, Connecticut.

Hulseman was a prolific die sinker during the Hard Times period and was responsible for many of the most popular tokens, including the anti-Jackson and anti-slavery pieces. It is the only Hard Times token Half Cent issue and is often collected as part of the United States series given that there were no 1837-dated Half Cents produced. Old Wayte Raymond Half Cent folders included a slot for these tokens and that is, in large part, responsible for their continued popularity. These tokens were listed in the Half Cent section of the Red Book starting in the late 1950s, also increasing their popularity. Prices for these tokens more than doubled in the last decade but have flattened over the past few years.
