This coin has a extra ring around the rim the entirety of both sides

Would you post a full picture of both sides.
I have an idea what it may be but can't tell from partial photos.

This extra ring on the 1985 $1 coin seems to come up ever now and then and it's not uncommon to see them up for sale on sites such as ebay for silly prices.



Some people say that it's due to Machine Doubling while others think it's due to a worn die but I've yet to hear of a definitive answer.

Scrape from rolling machines has been suggested too - none of the ones I've seen look raised.
