Looking at the back on "PLU", the line through the rays on the reverse, marks on liberty's face, the obverse and reverse fields I'm seeing some lettering and designs. This coin is part of a collection I inherited. I am just now getting around to looking closely at the photos I took of them before I put them into storage. When I glanced at the photo I just thought it was worn, but now I realize that there is more.

Unfortunately I feel the quality of the photos may not be sufficient to see the details properly. However, any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Thank you for the welcome! Maybe these will help. I can see some of the random letters, the line on the rays, her chin, the markings at Liberty's trucation

And the under eye markings.

Since the marks appear to move the letters, it looks to me like a cut - PMD. But I'm sure others will also let you know.

Thank you for the feedback. I am sure you have seen many more of these than I have. In the collection there were six Peace dollars from 1922-1923 and this one was definitely different in appearance. I called her the "hot mess". That's why she piqued my interest the multiple oddities that seemed part of the coin material itself. Texture, if you will.

It appears to be PMD to me as well.
