 The "IN" has circulation damage. I don't see doubling either.

I can see the "trips" on the W top left. Here is a shot of my own '68 D TDO. You can also see the three seperate spikes on the bottom right of the E in we.  Edited by GMS5

Thanks all. When I looked at reference photos of this coin, the doubling seems very faint. I thought I could see some faint split serifs on the E, U, S and Y. I see them better with my loupe.
I do need to figure out a better photo method. The scope I have puts to much glare. Then I tried a separate light ring, but that is not working well either. I will see if I can improve the photos and will post them if I think they are better.

Light rings give off multiple light sources. Best to use only only light source and the diffusing I mentioned on the link I posted. (A single light source allows light and shadows) Flat areas on devices will reflect unwanted light. So if what you are seeing are flat, then it is Machine Doubling on those areas. ( Machine Doubling removes the contour of the devices on the outside/inside edges of devices. A doubled die will show spread on the centers of the devices. |

Bottom of the U and S on halves always looks doubled to me, so I have to look at a picture of the normal like to make sure its not.

A good PUP to use to attribute the CONECA listed 68D DDO-002, FS-101, is the triple spread on the W of WE, A good marker is the curved north-south die scratch right of the mintmark, see attached photos.   |

The tripling is clearly evident on the WE, great find.

After seeing you new photo of the triple spread on WE, you may have one of the three 68D DDO's in the CONECA Master Listings. Attached are some photos and markers for the CONECA listed 68D DDO-001 WE, with the marker of the die crack on the O of DOLLAR, and the WE of the 68D DDO-003, with the marker of the three die scratched North-South to the right of the Mintmark. Maybe this will help you attribute your 68D DDO.     |
